Beyond the gate
Rooted in Patkote
A resort is only as warm as the village around it. Evara's hospitality begins with the people of Patkote and the Kumaoni hills — and returns to them.
Hands that build
A team from these hills
Most of the people who welcome you — the kitchen, the gardens, the front desk, the naturalists who know where the flycatchers nest — come from Patkote and the villages around Ramnagar. Their knowledge of this land is not trained; it is inherited.
We invest in that: hospitality training, English and service workshops, and clear paths from first job to team lead, so careers can be built without leaving the hills.
- Local-first hiring across every department
- Skills training and internal promotion paths
- Health cover and staff-family support
Local over outsourced
The village is our supply chain
Vegetables from Patkote's farms, milk from its dairies, mangoes from the orchards our cycling trail rolls past — the kitchen buys local first, every season it can.
The bonfire's folk singers, the mehendi artists at weddings, the drivers on the Kosi run: booked from the village, paid fairly, credited by name when guests ask.
- Farm produce and dairy sourced from surrounding villages
- Kumaoni folk artists at the nightly bonfire
- Village cycling trail with a tea stop that pays the household
Clean Corbett
Care that leaves the property
Waste from the resort is sorted and sent for recycling; kitchen scraps go to compost for the gardens. Beyond our wall, our team joins periodic clean-up walks along the approach roads and the Kosi banks — guests are welcome to lace up and join.
It is unglamorous work, which is exactly why it matters.
- Waste segregation and on-site composting
- Team clean-up drives on the Kosi approach
- Guests welcome on morning clean-up walks
